Indian Clothes Sale in Canada: What a Discount Actually Costs

Cream floral print sharara suit, one of the discounted pieces carried in sizes XXS to 4XL

MishUUU |

Most sale advice for occasion wear is written by people who do not have to process the returns. Set a budget, make a list, move quickly: none of it is wrong, and none of it is what actually decides whether a discounted outfit was a good buy.

Three numbers and one clause decide that here: the shipping threshold at CAD $125, how many units of a style exist in your size, and whether the piece falls inside a category that cannot be returned at all. The figures below are read off the live catalogue rather than estimated. For full-price context, what an Indian outfit actually costs in Canada covers that ground; this page is only about buying on a discount.

The $125 line, and why a discount can leave you worse off

Standard shipping inside Canada is CAD $25, and free above CAD $125. Express is CAD $29.99 flat. Those are the rates in the shipping policy, and they are the reason the threshold matters more than the discount percentage does.

Read against the live catalogue, the shape of the problem is clear. Of the pieces currently live on the site, 117 are priced under CAD $125 and 628 at $125 or above. So the overwhelming majority of what you can buy here already clears the free-shipping line at full price. The risk is not that your basket is too small. The risk is that a discount makes it too small.

Work it through on a real price. The Peach Floral Printed Palazzo Set is CAD $135 and ships free as it stands. Take ten per cent off and the subtotal is $121.50 — you have saved $13.50 and dropped below the threshold, which puts the $25 standard rate back on the order. Net result: the discount cost you $11.50.

Two things follow, both the opposite of sale instinct. Check the subtotal in the cart before you pay, not the headline price on the product page. And if a discount has dropped you under the line, the cheaper fix is almost always to add a second piece rather than pay the postage — at $25, the shipping is most of the way to a dupatta.

One footnote, because it runs backwards too: under the threshold, express costs $4.99 more than standard. Above it, standard is free and the same upgrade costs the full $29.99. The cheap upgrade is on the cheaper order.

Buy 1 Get 1 is final sale, and this is the clause to read before anything else

The B1G1 rail is the deepest discount on the site, and it carries a condition that most shoppers will never scroll far enough to find. Section 2 of the return policy is one sentence long: purchases made under a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion are final sale, and are not eligible for return, refund, exchange or store credit, regardless of reason.

Put that beside an ordinary wrong size, because the gap between them is the entire risk. At full price, section 6 treats a wrong size as a change of mind: back within seven days, inspected, store credit issued. Slow, and the return postage is yours, but the money stays in your account. On a B1G1 purchase there is no such path. A wrong size is not a delay. It is the whole amount.

That is not an argument against buying on B1G1. It is an argument for measuring before the box arrives rather than after. Take bust, waist and hip with a tape, check them against the size chart, and if you are between two sizes, send the measurements in and ask first. The measuring guide has all five and where to take them from. Fifteen minutes with a tape is the only insurance a final-sale order has. The live selection on that rail changes week to week, so treat the collection page as the current list.

The four other categories with no safety net

B1G1 is not the only exclusion. Section 1 of the return policy lists five categories that are not eligible for return at all:

  • Bridal wear
  • Sarees with stitched blouses
  • Pre-draped sarees
  • Customised and personalised pieces
  • Anything bought under a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion

Read that against the catalogue and the tension is obvious. The drapes and sarees range here is largely pre-draped — pleats and pallu set at manufacture — which is both the strongest reason to buy it and the reason it cannot go back. The Onyx Noir Draped Saree Set at CAD $135 and the Midnight Noir Draped Saree Set at CAD $205 are final on arrival. The pre-draped saree guide explains what is and is not stitched.

Custom sizing is often mistaken for an escape route from this list. It is not: a made-to-order piece is excluded from returns, and the policy allows a difference of up to one inch between the measurements you give and the garment that arrives. Custom is a commitment, not a hedge.

What the discounted rail actually has that the full-price rail does not

This is the part that inverts the usual assumption about markdowns, and it is specific to this catalogue. The Heavily Discounted collection currently holds five live pieces, and every one of them is priced at exactly CAD $125 — right on the shipping line. More to the point, they carry the deepest size runs on the site and the deepest stock. The Cream Floral Print Sharara Suit runs XXS to 4XL with 783 units behind it. The Grey Floral Printed Kurta Palazzo Set runs XS to 4XL. The Chikankari Sparkle Fiesta Mirror Embroidered Outfit and the Deep Blue Traditional Printed Premium Silk Jacket Gown both reach 3XL, and the Ivory Multicolor Sharara Set reaches 2XL with 453 units.

Compare the newer full-price arrivals. Most run XS to XL and hold four to seven units across those five sizes — effectively one garment per size. There are exceptions worth knowing, such as the Champagne Beige Silver Jewel Kurta Set at CAD $165, which runs XS to 3XL. But the pattern holds.

So for a buyer above XL, the discounted rail is not the compromise rail — it is the one with the range. That is an unusual thing for a shop to say about its own markdowns, and it is simply what the numbers show. The plus-size guide sets out which garment types carry the extended runs and which stop at XL, which matters a great deal more when you cannot walk in and try things on.

The other side of it: only four live pieces on the whole site are priced under CAD $99. The genuinely cheap end here is thin, so the discount worth hunting is on $125 to $195 pieces — Under $195 and Under $295.

Timing, and why the size runs out before the price comes down

Two discount windows matter here. Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026 and Boxing Day on Saturday 26 December 2026. Both sit inside the wedding season that runs November through February, which is what makes them awkward: prices are softest exactly when stock moves fastest.

At four to seven units per style across five sizes, that is not abstract. Waiting a fortnight for a deeper cut on a $165 lehenga usually costs you the size rather than the price, and the size is the part nothing substitutes for.

If you do need to reverse an order, the cancellation window is narrower than the return window. Section 10 allows 24 hours from the order date on an ordinary order — and on a Ready-to-Ship order, only until a tracking number is assigned. Dispatch runs at one to two business days, so on a Ready-to-Ship piece ordered on a Friday evening the window can close before Monday lunchtime. Email the order number the same day rather than sleeping on it.

One date to plan around rather than shop on: Diwali falls on Sunday 8 November 2026, three weeks ahead of Black Friday, so the discount window arrives too late to dress for it. The Diwali Special and Festive Season Lookbook selections are the ones to look at now, and the last-minute guide covers what is realistic inside a fortnight.

If you are near Brampton, one clause changes the plan

There is a shop floor at 2575 Steeles Avenue East, Unit 9, in Brampton, and on a discounted purchase it solves the size problem outright: you try the piece on, and the final-sale exclusions stop being a gamble. Hours and directions are on the store page; buying Indian clothes in Brampton covers the area more widely.

One clause cuts the other way, and it is worth knowing before anyone drives over with a parcel. Section 5.6 states that refunds are not entertained at the physical store location. An online order returns through the online process however close you live, so a shop twenty minutes away does not shorten a return — it only prevents one. Use the store to avoid the return, not to resolve it.

Questions

Is there a catch to Buy 1 Get 1?

Not a hidden one, but a real one. Section 2 makes B1G1 purchases final sale: no return, refund, exchange or store credit, regardless of reason. On any other standard-size order a wrong size becomes store credit. On B1G1 it becomes nothing.

Does a discount affect free shipping?

It can. Standard shipping is CAD $25 and free above CAD $125, read on the cart subtotal, so a discount that takes the basket under $125 brings the charge back. On a $135 piece, ten per cent off saves $13.50 and can cost $25 in postage. Check the cart total before paying.

Which items can never be returned?

Bridal wear, sarees with stitched blouses, pre-draped sarees, customised pieces, and anything bought on a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion. Everything else is eligible within seven days of delivery, unworn with tags intact, for store credit, return postage at your cost.

Are the discounted pieces available in plus sizes?

More so than the full-price ones, which is unusual. The live Heavily Discounted pieces reach 2XL, 3XL and 4XL, while most recent full-price arrivals run XS to XL. If you are above XL, start with the discounted rail rather than treating it as a fallback.

When are the Canadian sale periods?

Black Friday is Friday 27 November 2026 and Boxing Day is Saturday 26 December 2026. Both fall inside wedding season, so stock moves quickly through them, and waiting usually costs you the size rather than the price.

Can I cancel an order if I change my mind?

24 hours from the order date on an ordinary order. On a Ready-to-Ship order the window closes as soon as a tracking number is assigned, which can be the next business day. Email the order number the same day.

For a specific garment rather than a sale period, start with buying Indian clothes online in Canada and the Lehenga, Suit Sets and Kurta Suit Sets collections.
