When Eid falls, and why the date is a purchasing problem
Eid al-Fitr 2027 is expected around Tuesday 9 or Wednesday 10 March 2027. That is the Umm al-Qura astronomical calculation; it is not fixed. The day depends on the sighting of the new moon, so it can differ by a day between countries and occasionally between mosques in the same city, and it is rarely confirmed more than a night in advance.
That is worth stating on a shopping page rather than a religious one, because it is a genuine buying constraint and nobody treats it as one. Almost all retail plans against a fixed calendar date. Eid moves roughly ten to eleven days earlier each year and its final day is not settled until the night before, so your delivery window has to absorb a shift you cannot predict.
Domestically that is easy. Orders are processed in one to two business days, standard delivery inside Canada is four to six business days and express is three to five, so a one-day movement in the date changes nothing. Ordering from overseas is where it becomes a problem: a customs hold turns a one-day uncertainty into a two-week one, and there is no way to buy your way out of it late. This is the strongest practical argument for buying domestically, and it has nothing to do with price.
The second consequence is about timing rather than logistics. The last ten days of Ramadan are when almost everyone shops for Eid, and they are also when stock in the common sizes goes. Ordering before that window rather than inside it is worth more than any discount.
Eid in Canada is a working day, and that changes the outfit
This is the part no Eid guide written outside a Western country makes, and it is the most useful thing on this page.
In Muslim-majority countries Eid is a public holiday. In Ontario it is not, and in 2027 it falls midweek. So the day runs: an early Eid prayer at a mosque, a rented hall or a convention centre, then for a great many people a workday or a school run, then a family lunch or dinner in the evening.
That is three different rooms in one outfit, and it rules out the reception-weight piece most Eid guides recommend. What you need is something festive enough for the prayer hall and the family table, and sane enough to sit in at a desk in between.
Dressing for the prayer, which is a fit problem nobody writes about
Eid prayer involves standing, bowing and prostration, on a floor, in rows, with people close on either side. Four garment consequences follow from that, and none of them appears on a size chart.
- A narrow or fitted skirt binds at the knee going down and coming back up. A mermaid hem makes prostration close to impossible. This is a construction problem rather than a modesty one, and it catches people who have chosen the outfit entirely on how it photographs standing up.
- A stiff waistband resists the fold at the hip. A corset bodice or a boned blouse holds a beautiful line and fights you in prostration. A drawstring or elasticated waist does not.
- A dupatta pinned at one shoulder slides forward in bowing and lands on the floor in prostration. A wide dupatta with some weight to it, pinned at both shoulders or worn over the head, stays where you put it. A narrow, slippery one does not, and no number of pins fixes a dupatta that is simply too small to sit. That is a decision made at the point of purchase, not on the morning.
- Heavy beadwork at the neckline and cuffs sits between you and the floor. It is uncomfortable for the length of the prayer, and it is also the most common way that beadwork gets crushed.
The garment that answers all four at once is a wide-leg palazzo or sharara set with a drawstring waist and a full dupatta. That it is also the most heavily stocked shape here is convenient rather than coincidental — it is the shape that suits the way the day actually runs.

Two things follow that are worth saying plainly rather than burying.

Menswear, and the honest size of it
The men's range here is seven pieces, running XS to XL, and there is no sherwani in it. For Eid morning that is usually enough, because a kurta set is the correct garment and a sherwani is not — but it is a small rail and worth checking early. Early March in Ontario, which is worse than January for a pale hem
Eid al-Fitr 2027 lands in the first half of March, and that is a specific problem rather than a general one.
In January road salt sits dry on a pavement. It marks a hem, but it brushes off and the damage is abrasion rather than staining. In early March the same salt is dissolved in meltwater, and a hem standing in it does not simply get marked — it wicks the solution upward into the fabric by capillary action, so the mark travels several inches up the panel rather than sitting along the edge. Cream and ivory hems, which is a great deal of Eid dressing, are exactly the wrong thing to walk across a mosque car park in at that time of year.
Two fixes, both cheap. Choose a piece whose lower panel is not the palest part of it, or carry the outfit and change at the venue. If a hem does take meltwater, blot it damp rather than letting it dry into the thread.
The other March-specific point is temperature. A prayer hall at seven in the morning is cold, and the same hall at nine with several hundred people in it is warm. Layer rather than choosing a heavy fabric, because you cannot take a heavy fabric off.
Returns, and how long a wrong size actually costs
Standard-size kurta, sharara and palazzo sets are returnable, and that is genuinely useful here. Returns must be initiated within seven days of delivery and posted back within seven days of approval, unworn and with tags intact. Refunds are issued as store credit rather than to your card, and return postage is on you.

And section 9 is explicit that there are no direct exchanges — a size swap means returning the first piece and placing a new order.
