Let us start with what this page is not going to pretend. There is no MishUUU shop floor in British Columbia. Our store is in Brampton, and if you live in Surrey, Delta, Abbotsford or Vancouver, buying from us means buying by post from the other side of the country.
That is a real disadvantage and it is worth being straight about it, because the Lower Mainland is not short of Indian clothing. Scott Road and 128th Street in Surrey hold one of the densest concentrations of South Asian retail anywhere in North America, and Vancouver's Punjabi Market on Main Street has been there for decades. Surrey's Khalsa Day Vaisakhi parade drew more than 450,000 people in 2026. You are not underserved.
So this page answers two questions honestly: what this catalogue has that the Lower Mainland's suit houses generally do not, and what buying it from 4,000 kilometres away actually costs you in time and in risk. The second question matters more than most shopping guides admit.
What BC already does well, and what it does less of
Surrey's strength is the traditional register, at depth: unstitched fabric by the metre, heavy Punjabi suits, bridal lehengas with a tailoring room attached, woven silk. If that is what you want, you should buy it there. A fitting in person will beat anything a courier can do, and the alteration conversation happens face to face.
What is thinner on the ground is the contemporary occasion register — the pre-draped saree, the drape set, the indo-western palazzo and cape piece. These are not tailoring-heavy garments; they are designed to be worn straight from the box, which is precisely what makes them work as a mail-order purchase and precisely why a suit house with a tailoring room does not prioritise them.
That is the whole case for ordering from Ontario. Not that it is better, but that it is a different rail. Our drapes and sarees range is almost entirely pre-draped rather than loose fabric, and Indo-Western and Co-ord Sets are where the contemporary end sits.
The number that should decide your order date
Standard delivery inside Canada is four to six business days and orders dispatch within one to two. Ontario to British Columbia is the longest domestic lane there is, so plan on the top of that band rather than the middle — six business days after dispatch, not four.
Then add the time zone. The warehouse runs on Eastern time, so an order placed at 2pm in Surrey lands at 5pm in Brampton and an order placed at 4pm lands after close. In practice, anything after early afternoon Pacific is a next-business-day dispatch at the earliest, and an order placed on Friday afternoon Pacific does not begin moving until Monday.
The working rule, adjusted for BC: five weeks before the event is comfortable, three is tight, and under two weeks is not worth attempting. Every GTA guide on this site says four weeks. Add one for the lane and the clock.

The part that actually matters: a return from BC is expensive
This is the section to read before you add anything to a basket, because the risk profile of this purchase is genuinely different in Surrey than it is in Scarborough, and nobody writes it down.
Three clauses combine. Eligible returns must be initiated within seven days of delivery. Return postage is yours. Refunds are issued as store credit rather than to your card, and there are no direct exchanges.
Now run that from the Lower Mainland. A wrong size means posting a boxed garment back across the country at your cost, waiting for it to arrive and be inspected, receiving store credit, ordering again, and waiting out the lane a second time. From within Ontario that cycle is two to three weeks. From BC it is closer to three or four, and the return postage on a boxed lehenga is a real number rather than a rounding error.
And then the clause that removes the fallback entirely. Several categories are not eligible for return at all:
- Bridal wear
- Pre-draped sarees
- Sarees with stitched blouses
- Customised and personalised pieces
- Anything bought under a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion
Read that list against the earlier section and the tension is obvious: the pre-draped saree is both the strongest reason to order from us and the category with no safety net. That is not a reason to avoid it. It is a reason to measure before you order rather than after it arrives, and to ask us first if you are between sizes. The terms are on the return policy page.
Practically, for a BC buyer that means: take your own measurements with the fit guide and the size chart, and send them to us before ordering anything in a non-returnable category. Sizes run 3XS to XL with custom sizing available — though note that custom is itself non-returnable, so it is a commitment rather than an escape route.
The coastal detail: your climate is kinder to the fabric and harder on the thread
Every winter-wedding warning on this site was written for Ontario, and half of it does not apply to you.
The static problem does not exist in Vancouver. Forced-air heating in a dry Ontario January drops indoor humidity far enough that a georgette kurta over a churidar clings, which is why our GTA pages keep recommending a cotton slip. Coastal BC in winter sits at a much higher indoor humidity, so a fine synthetic that would need a slip in Brampton behaves perfectly in Surrey. You can wear the lighter piece.
The trade is storage, and it runs the other way. Metallic thread, zari and antique-gold finishes tarnish faster in coastal damp than in a dry house. Real and imitation zari both hold a metallic coating that oxidises in humidity, and the tarnish shows first at the folds, where moisture sits longest. Two things follow. Store the piece in a breathable cotton or muslin bag rather than the sealed plastic garment bag it arrived in, because sealed plastic traps moisture against the thread instead of keeping it out. And refold it along different lines once or twice a year rather than leaving the same creases in place for a decade. Neither is difficult; both matter more in Surrey than they do in Winnipeg.
The one Ontario warning that does travel: do not hang a heavily embroidered piece long term. The weight distorts the shoulder line regardless of the weather.

Plenty of Lower Mainland families travel to Toronto for a wedding rather than the reverse.
